INSTRUCTION COURSES

Herby Wallace began teaching pedal steel guitar as far back as 1963 and he did one of the first instruction courses for pedal steel guitar in 1969 for the Emmons Guitar Co. HWP began in 1979 when Herby quit working the road on a regular basis. We have what we feel is one of the finest lines of instruction courses on the market today. I have listed the various courses below:

  1. HWP-300 This is my most complete course for the E9th tuning. It consists of a book written in easy to read tab and also a cassette. There is a tremendous amount of information contained in this course. For example: 25 runs and licks, 8 endings, 5 modulations, 14 exercises, 20 chord progessions, 13 scales, 6 stock intros, and 6 songs plus much, much more. There is also a rhythm track included to practice along with. This course is written for a standard 10 string E9th tuning using 3 pedals and 3 knee levers.   2. HWP-200 This is my most complete course for the C6th tuning. It consists of a book written in easy to read tab and also a cassette. This course is for beginners or even the advanced student as it contains so much information, such as: runs and licks, endings, chord progressions, scales, right and left hand technique, blocking, 5 songs plus much, much more. There is also a rhythm track included to practice along with. This course is written for a standard 10 string C6th tuning using 5 pedals and 1 knee lever.   3. HWP-201 This is the more advanced C6th course which I recommend after you complete the HWP-200 course.
